TerraBijou – Joe & Gudi Pach

Joe & Gudi Pach

We were born in Germany (1954 & 1955 respectively) and lived there until 1982.   Before we moved to Canada in 1990, we lived in Holland for 8 years.

Joe has worked most of his life as a dental technician and got the patience to work with precision tools during that experience.

Gudi has worked most of her life as a draft person in architecture offices and later on in design, marketing and as an interior decorator.

Around 30 yrs ago we started to make some jewelry in our spare time in Holland.Five years ago the two of us started again to make some jewelry in our spare time but this time we sold the pieces. It became more than a hobby.

In 2008 Joe decided to semi- retire. Both of us took some weekend classes with instructors from the NB College of Craft & Design in Fredericton, Trudy Gallagher (Bejewel) and Erica Sullivan.  Shortly after, Joe decided to take a full course in jewelry & metal art with Brigitte Clavette.  Gudi concentrates on unique necklaces and makes only one-of-a-kind pieces, preferably asymmetrical.

In the fall 2009 we opened a studio in our home after a major renovation of the upper level in our Cape Cod home.

Our business name TerraBijou means Earth(y) jewelry. We use local pebbles and rocks from the coast of Fundy, leather, and hemp, but also shells, wood and seeds from different parts of the world such as Fiji, Arizona, New Zealand and Thailand. Our biggest hobby is traveling around the planet.    We also use elements from the earth like sterling silver, copper, brass and some gold.

Our goal is to develop TerraBijou into a full time retirement business for both of us and spend more time at home with our two cats Oliver & Lucy, siblings who were adopted in 2009.
