Karen Knight – Soul Impression Pottery

Karen (Dryer) Knight, native of the Saint John region, is an Artist Potter and juried member of the New Brunswick Craft Council.  Karen studied Fine Art in the late 1980’s and taught handbuilding and sculpture from 1997 to 2003 for the City of Guelph.  Since her return home, Karen has concentrated on establishing “Soul Impression,” her business in Saint John, which features handbuilt functional art and fine sculpture.  The business is located at 1509 Rothesay Road.

This is a piece (#17) from my Lowtide Series, which is inspired by the patterns in the sand created by the tides.

I created this woven bowl as a piece that would not only be intriguing on its own, but would also interact with light, casting wonderful shadows.
